Has anyone seen MAC's new Spring Collection in stores? The packaging is loud, retro and SO much fun. The tones are tender, soft and feminine (which...psst...are perfect for bridal)!

Right quick-

I wanted to share with you a couple products that I'm adoring. It's been my experience that MAC lip glasses are pretty sticky, but these are much smoother. These color's pigments transfer beautifully, a lot like a lipstick, lasting a lot longer than most glosses. Essentially it's a lipstick and lipgloss all in one.

MAC Kissable Lip Colour
 5 g / 0.17 US oz

Woo Me (light pink nude)
Enchantee (light pink blue)

Just a peak, but hope y'all get a chance to check them out. For more information on the Spring Collection, check out MAC's WEBSITE.

Eyelash extensions come across so beautifully in wedding photography...I am in love with them.

Buckle up, kiddos. There are many, many new nail polish color trends to chose from and the pick isn't going to be easy.

"2012 is all about the color green," says Essie founder Essie Weingarten. "There’s something really special about it, so you’re going to see a lot of it."

Look for polishes that have creamy undertones and lots of opacity — you want the color to really stand out on your nails.

Above, from left: Essie Nail Polish in Navigate Her, $8, available in February at EssiePriti NYC Nail Polish in Dusty Miller, $12.50, available January 20 at Priti NYCYves Saint Laurent Duo Manicure Couture Nail Polish Set in Edition 7, $30, available at Yves Saint LaurentRGB Cosmetics Nail Polish in Dew, $16, available in March at RGB.

I hope that your day was full of love, not necessarily the knee trembling, heart thumping, blushing like a raspberry kind; but also the love that just lets you know you’re appreciated for being weirdly, uniquely and gorgeously you. I hope that you feel the love that doesn’t really care how clever you are, or how you wear your hair, the love that sees beyond the packaging, because your inner sparkle is too bright to hide.

Love yourself, for if you don't, how can you expect anybody else to love you?

Just Say NO To That Milk Mustache

I recently started reading The Paleo Answer by Loren Cordain, Ph.D, Founder of the Paleo Movement and author of The Paleo Diet. In it, Dr. Cordain's research shows a direct link between the Paleo Diet (absence of milk) and clear skin. The study showed that milk and foods with high glycemic indices caused blood insulin levels to rise and in turn, set off a hormonal cascade which triggered the known events which ultimately causes acne. According to Lauren Conrad's blog, The Beauty Department, Dr. Cordain isn't the only one saying no to the milk mustache these days.

[Thank you, The Beauty Department: Your Daily Dose of Pretty, for the following article on food and acne]:

"Dr. Jessica Wu, our own LA dermatologist and author of Feed Your Face, is back to share with us a few tips on what foods can contribute to acne and which can help clear it + prevent it. Because what we put on the inside is just as important for our skin as what we put on the outside. Thanks Dr. Wu!
Do you dread looking in the mirror in the morning because you’re afraid of finding another pimple?  If so, the secret to getting clear skin might be what you’re eating.  While there are several causes of acne (heredity, bacteria, clogged pores), I’ve helped many of my patients control their breakouts by choosing the right foods.  Even those who are taking antibiotic pills can often stop taking them.  If you’re struggling with breakouts, here’s how to eat for clear skin:
Got zits? If so, dairy is not your friend.  Milk products (even organic) contain cow hormones that can be absorbed by your body.  Dairy products stimulate your body’s own hormones, leading to oilier skin and clogged pores.  Instead, try soy or almond milk in your cereal and coffee.  If you must have your cheese or yogurt fix, at least choose organic, nonfat or skim milk products which contain fewer hormones.  Just be sure to get your calcium elsewhere.
Avoid white carbs like sugar, bread, bakery items, pasta, white rice, and potatoes.  Eating a diet that’s high in carbs can increase the level of androgens (the acne-causing “male” hormones that stimulate oil glands) after just one week.  Carbs also make you bloat.  If you are going to have carbs, pair it with a protein so you’ll eat less of it (for example, add chicken to your pasta or peanut butter to your whole wheat toast).
Eat more zinc-rich foods. Zinc has been shown to fight acne-causing bacteria, and is a natural anti-inflammatory.  Zinc is found in lean red meat (especially beef and lamb) as well as lentils, kidney beans, and oysters.  However, it’s best to avoid zinc supplements, since too much zinc can be toxic.  It’s better to get your zinc by eating it."

Miss Savannah River 2012

I spent this last weekend in Augusta, Georgia with the beautiful Miss Janelle Bova as she prepared to wow the judges of Miss Savannah River, a Miss America preliminary pageant. Janelle was stunning, as always, and I...well, I was proud to call her friend.

Through participation in this program, I will develop and refine personal attributes such as self-esteem, public speaking and confidence. Delegates are encouraged to reach their full potential through continual self-improvement. America’s National Miss is committed to recognizing and rewarding strong female role models. And, is the only pageant program of its kind to include Academic Achievement as part of the score, thereby insuring a bright and well-spoken representative.
